Title: Post-68 Nostalgia and the Personal Labor of Women
Dr. Ervin Malakaj will discuss issues related to the neglected, yet important, film "Unter dem Pflaster Liegt der Strand" ("Under the Pavement Lies the Strand," 1974), directed and written by renowned filmmaker Helma Sanders-Brahms. The presentation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, from 4-5:30 p.m. in Evans Complex Room 105.
Ervin Malakaj is Assistant Professor of German at SHSU. His primary research interests are German media history and theory in the 19th and 20th centuries. Currently, he is writing a book titled Anxious Telling: Fragile Literary Culture in Early Wilhelmine Germany.
