Students eligible: All undergraduate students who enroll full-time (minimum 12 hours) at Sam Houston State University in the fall 2019 semester who have read the book.

Prompt: Using specific examples from Educated: A Memoir, by Tara Westover, write a poem or lyric that illustrates or explores central themes of the book. Possible themes could include, but are not limited to: (a) the struggle and beauty of maturing through education, (b) the belief in owning your learning and your education, (c) overcoming adversity to pursue your dreams, (d) the retreat into fantasy and delusion to mitigate the harshness of the real world, or perhaps (e) the subjectivity of personal memory about family history.
