Hiking Big Bend National Park Adventure Trip

Adventures are bigger in Texas. Join us for day hiking and exploring the awesome wilderness of Big Bend National Park. We'll hike the tallest peak, Emory Peak, and hike down to the Rio Grande in Santa Elena Canyon. With the darkness of the area, you'll never see better stargazing.

Dates: March 7 - 11 (Spring Break)

Register by: Feb. 24

Cost: $225 for students, $300 for non-students

Location: Big Bend National Park

The trips and workshops offered by the Outdoor Recreation Program at Sam Houston State University are open to anyone who wants a truly unique experience. Trips can vary in difficulty from easy to strenuous and range from an afternoon in a canoe to a week in the backcountry. This is your chance to get outside, try something different, and live the life less ordinary. No experience is necessary to sign up! Trip costs include transportation, equipment, food (except any meals on the road), permits and fees, lodging or camping, instruction, and guides.
