HARC's People and Nature Speaker Series brings nationally recognized experts and the public together to talk openly from multiple viewpoints about issues facing our growing region. Join us on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 for our next installment.
Every year more people are moving to the Houston-Galveston region while hurricanes, floods and historic drought underscore risks to the region’s future prosperity. Local investment is needed to implement strategies and projects to make our communities economically attractive, all while increasing resilience.
Public funds distributed from federal, state and local government sources are limited in their scope and ability to support innovative resilience strategies that could create a more livable, nature-based and equitable region.
Our upcoming event will feature an evening conversation with six national thought leaders on the topic of innovative resilience financing and will include dialogue on the role the public and private sector can use to develop partnerships and funding mechanisms for the greater Houston region.
