Benjamin A. Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship & Gilman-McCain Scholarship Information Session

Interested in Study Abroad? Do you currently receive a Federal Pell grant or are a child dependent of active duty service members? You may be eligible for a scholarship award of up to $5,000!

Please join the Office International Programs for an Information Session to learn more about the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship and the Gilman-McCain Scholarship.

The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship is a federally-funded scholarship award of up to $5,000! It is open to Pell grant recipients who are US Citizens interested in Study Abroad programs for Summer, Fall, and Academic Year programs.

The Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. Students must receive Title IV federal financial aid to qualify.

Applications are now being accepted for all in-person and virtual programs starting between May 1, 2021, to April 30, 2022.  

At the Information Session interested students will learn:

  • What is the Gilman and Gilman-McCain Scholarships?
  • How to apply including eligibility and application requirements 
  • Get tips on how to write the essay
